The water distribution system is more than just the main in front of your house, it is an elaborate system for conveying water from the treatment plant to your home. For Gallatin this system consists of 1,683,727 linear feet of water distribution main in sizes ranging from 2 inches to 36 inches, 6,000 water services and meters, 1816 fire hydrants, 2 water pumping stations, and 5 water storage tanks with a capacity of 12 million gallons.

Routine system maintenance and repair helps us ensure that we deliver safe, high quality water to our customers in a cost effective manor. This maintenance program includes an annual leak detection contract, leak repairs, dead meter replacement, routine fire hydrant flushing and maintenance, a valve operation and maintenance program, and GIS mapping of all system infrastructure.
